1. Workout Your Legs
I hear it all the time when I visit gyms after work. People say they have worked out their calves every 3 days. And it's not good enough. Most of all I work out my legs because the more I do it the better it feels and the faster it gets done. My legs also get stronger during each workout. So even though I'm working out my calves my legs are getting stronger. For example; before I start doing crunches, I use to workout them 4 times a week until I felt confident in the exercises. I know that the longer I work out on a few different exercises, the more muscle memory I build up so I don't forget what is going to help me. Another thing that works great with these types of workouts is having a resistance bands and it feels amazing once I stop working out them.
2. Use Supplements
I have heard some people saying that they never use supplements anymore and that is just BS. As much as we want vitamins to boost up our hormones which makes us feel fuller and energetic so much that is actually not true. We should try to take care of ourselves as opposed to taking supplements which only add to our sugar and calories intake. Not to mention those ingredients found in many supplements they claim to provide help but really it's just empty promises to the body.
Most of the supplements that are provided by manufacturers have no actual value and if they provided any at all then they would give them in small doses like 1 to 2 capsules. In our studies we found that there is an interaction between fat liver oil and calcium which helps burn fat cells so they become broken down faster which burns more energy. And with a lot of supplements you can find in stores like shakes and bars they are supposed to be worth billions to humans. But in reality, it is nothing else but empty promises. Take note of the contents of the supplement before buying in case you are purchasing from someone, not just looking at a bottle and hoping it will do what it claims to do. Keep it all in the back pocket or purse and put it where the person you are selling it to isn't around. The same applies to supplements as well. Some manufacturers sell supplements claiming to do a bunch of things while others just promise something else along the lines of, "if you use this supplement or that, you will see results." Keep it simple as possible and stick to those ingredients. Don't overdo it; otherwise it'll lead you into trouble.
3. Stop Counting Calories
Many people believe counting calories will make them lose weight but this is not true. There is only one way to lose weight. So, stop counting calories for now. Just watch your carbs and protein levels. Yes, they are both important for losing weight but it is when it comes to losing abdominal fat. That's what we want and that's why it makes us want the extra pounds to disappear. However, when it comes to losing fat from the belly area its just about when the other leg area is a bit leaner than the rest of the body. When you think of the size of other parts the bigger it gets the bigger will you feel. Also remember to eat enough calories; 1,200 calories for men and women and between 800 to 1,000 during pregnancy. There is no such thing as too many calories the best way to lose weight.
4. Get Enough Sleep
I was always told that sleep is essential to gain muscle mass and lose fat so that is what I have always been doing. One of the main reasons I was overweight was due to lack of sleep. Since my partner and I decided to have kids we were forced to cut carbs because one day we didn't want breakfast for our son. Well, my sister said she had a secret. She said that her baby was sleeping through his nap because he was getting tired of all the cravings and hunger pangs when he was hungry and couldn't eat at one time. Turns out it was just because he was going to bed and he was ready to go to school. His dad is a doctor so he has studied infant nutrition for years. His advice was for babies sleeping through their naps and then getting enough to eat throughout the day. He knew that because they weren't getting enough in between meals, most of them would not be getting the proper nutrients and that would lead to obesity. Now, I don't recommend this method because at least it's hard and requires a lot of effort. Plus, once you start sleeping less, there are chances that you won't be motivated to get going until much later at night. So, I've used this tip a lot. But to be frank most mothers prefer breast feeding so that makes it easier especially since we were worried about the quality of milk. If your child is not sleeping then we would advise trying early if you can so that you can feed it right before going to sleep to avoid any confusion about when the clock starts again. Another thing is to ensure the baby is clean of anything that might be wrong. All you need is a wet wipe and let him wash himself. That way the child is still exposed and you don't miss a second. Lastly, make sure you wear a hat with wide lids or you could wind that cover on your head which could spread the germs and make your ears smell and cause ear infections.
5. Exercise During Pregnancy
If you're expecting or planning to have a little one, exercise is a must. Physical exercise is very important not only for staying in shape but for making sure you are keeping healthy. It is important to be active during your pregnancy and that starts from the second you realize that you are pregnant. A healthy diet and regular exercise are two important elements that lead to a healthy pregnancy. Start doing physical activity and making efforts to reduce the amount of sedentary you are doing. Exercising doesn't just involve walking on the path. Make sure you are burning calories, getting healthy, and you get the much needed blood flow throughout your body. I believe that exercising is an important part of being pregnant because you have to make sure you're eating right and that is a big deal because your uterus needs oxygen throughout the whole process. Once your daughter is born you want to give her a safe environment to grow so you should make every effort possible to make sure it stays healthy.
