Heart attack and its major symptoms
what symptoms are likely to be caused a signs of a heart attack ,the most common is chest pain it's usually a pressure in the chest ,sometimes it can be a squeezing feeling, sometimes sharp, sometimes it can be in the chest but sometimes you can go up to the arm usually the left arm but sometimes either arm .sometimes it can go up to the neck even the jaw.sometimes people present to their dentist with jaw pain think they have a tooth problem it's actually their heart.sometimes it can go the opposite direction could be down in the belly and sometimes it's not even a pain it can be just a difficulty breathing and sometimes people are short of breath and they don't have any pain at all but that is their heart complaining that it's in trouble so these are the classic symptoms that warning signs of a heart attack but often they're very nonspecific and very vague. Again sometimes can be just a mild shortness of breath sometimes you just don't feel well and for reasons we don't quite understand. Women tend to have less of the typical crushing chest pain and more commonly just some shortness of breath or sometimes it's again in there not in the chest but in other parts of their body they just feel bad. Another set of people who have problems, people with diabetes also often do not have the classic chest pain and for again reasons we don't quite understand people with diabetes sometimes don't have any warning at all and can can't have silent heart attacks and that's a little bit harder to diagnose than people who present with the classic symptoms . Another common question that is often receive d is, when do I know if I'm having a heart attack or from having these symptoms what should I do, the most important thing is that if you are having symptoms that are consistent with a heart attack, that pain ,pressure and it's lasting longer than about 5 to 10 minutes you don't want to call family you certainly don't want to call your doctor what's very important is you call an ambulance that brings you to the hospital, instead of you driving because if something bad happens to you when you're on the way and if you are having a heart attack bad things can happen you can even have a cardiac arrest and you can obviously if that happens when you're driving that can be disastrous and even if someone else is driving you and something bad happens you're still a long ways away from the hospital
whereas if you call an ambulance, the hospital comes to you and that's the quickest way of getting taken care of and getting treated for a heart attack and the reason why it's so important to call an ambulance is, the longer you're having chest pain the more damage you're going to have and the worse your chances of survival are the sooner you call an ambulance the sooner we can find out if you're having a heart attack and most importantly if you are having a heart attack that's due to a blocked artery in the heart one of the coronary arteries is blocked by cholesterol and fatty plaque build up with blood clot on top of it the quickest way and the best way of treating that is to open up that blockage with a balloon or a stent that is put in through your wrist artery to do that doctors have to first make the diagnosis then they have to rush you into the cardiac catheterization lab in the hospital so the faster you can get into the hospital and the is the faster can got the artery open and most importantly the faster to stop the heart attack and minimize damage to in the heart attack is caused by plaque that grows and expands and then suddenly will get blood clot on top of it when the plaque gets irritated that causes a complete blockage ,100 percent blockage in the artery and no blood can get beyond the blockage most importantly no blood can get downstream to the heart muscle. the heart muscle then be behind that blockage starts dying from lack of oxygen what we do is open that up with a balloon and a metal stent and that then opens the artery and you get normal flow down that artery and the heart muscle beyond the blockage now is getting normal blood flow and normal oxygen and gets back to normal heart. Causes of heart attack: Attacks are caused by plaque buildup and by a blocked artery. the plaque builds up gradually with cholesterol fatty plaque building up in the walls and narrowing the walls and then what happens is the plaque gets irritated and will rupture in one part and then that exposes the sticky underlying part of it and blood clot forms on top of it and it's the blood clot that forms the final blockage that actually causes the heart attack. summary:
heart disease is very important and potentially life-threatening so if you have chest pain don't ignore it or any of the other symptoms that I described ,don't ignore it seek help and if you have real serious symptoms of chest pain that don't go away call for an ambulance and get the help kit you need.
